Next up in this Old Hollywood photo series is the Beverly Hills Hotel. This photo series with Jaime Fernandez may be one of my favorites to date! One of the things I love most about this city is that even after living here for years, there is still always something new to discover. I can't believe how many times I'd driven past this iconic hotel without stopping by! Now, the Beverly Hills Hotel is mostly known for it's instagrammable pink and green decor, gorgeous poolside, and palm printed wallpaper, but all it took was a quick google search to discover just how significant the Beverly Hills Hotel is to Hollywood's history. It's hosted everyone from Grace Kelly to Elizabeth Taylor to Frank Sinatra, and walking through the hotel, history seemed to seep off the walls. This pink palace definitely left a charming impression as we shot these photos..

Today we're taking it back to Old Hollywood in this shoot at Greystone Mansion in the heart of Beverly Hills. This shoot was nothing short of magical. I am so glad that Jaime was able to photograph and capture it all. I'm not going to lie, I felt like I was my own little fairytale as we were shooting these images. So much history and glamor emanated from every inch of this estate. Oh how I wish these brick walls could talk! Being the history nerd that I am, I read up on the mansion after the shoot, and was so fascinated. As it turns out, Greystone Mansion has been the location of countless movies throughout film history and even has it's own interesting past... The estate was built by one of the wealthiest families in Hollywood during the 1920s. But within a few months of moving in, a murder-suicide took place. Since no one wanted to live in a mansion apparently haunted by the ghosts of the family, the estate was purchased by the city of Beverly Hills and turned into a public park. This hidden gem in LA is definitely a must see if you love a good ghost story, gorgeous architecture, and Old Hollywood charm!
June Update
So what's in store for this summer? I'm currently in Boston for a week, then I'll continue on to spend Fourth of July weekend in DC (I think this is becoming a tradition!). Then in mid July, I'm headed to India, Japan, and Singapore for a big trip with my family! I've been to India once before, but never Tokyo or Singapore. I am so excited to be spending this time with my family exploring Asia! Once I get back, I'm planning some road trips, camping trips, and, of course, spending as much time as I can in Sausalito. Since our first summer there, it has become my absolute favorite place that fills me up with peace, foggy mornings, beach picnics, and creative inspiration. Summer 2017, I'm embracing you with arms wide open and can't wait to see what you have in store! I'm ready for plenty of adventure, smiles, sunshine, and joy.
